What You Do Every Day Matters More Than What You Do Once in a While

"What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while." What we do as church leaders MATTERS!

habits

Do what matters... TODAY.

I read this quote the other day and it really hit me.

"What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while."

What we do as church leaders matters.

What profession could you have chosen that matters more?

The impact of our work, when done well, is eternal. Grasp that for a second. It should take your breath away.

So… what we do every day matters. And it’s the things that we do every day that will make the greatest impact for eternity in the lives of people that we minister to.

Can I make a confession? Sometimes I feel like Paul when he says “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” If I really look at my schedule, at my routines, at my day-to-day work… there’s a lot of fat to be trimmed. The things that I KNOW make the biggest difference are being done once in a while. Not nearly as often as they should be. Probably because that’s hard, risky work. The easy, the mundane, the comfortable… those are the things I repeat over and over and over.

And I wonder why I get frustrated at the lack of progress on the big Kingdom Impact items I’m working on. I’m trying to get better. Repetition in the BIG things is much more important than merely getting through each day. It’s tough.

What is the one BIG thing that you KNOW makes a difference, but you haven’t done it for a long time?

Stop what you’re doing and do it now!

And again tomorrow.

You’ll be glad you did!

What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while!
