The Job

First Baptist Church Bay City in Bay City, Texas, is seeking a faithful and visionary Senior Pastor to lead a congregation rooted in Scripture and energized by a deep love for community. The Senior Pastor will serve as the spiritual shepherd, primary preacher, and chief administrator, providing leadership in gospel proclamation, pastoral care, staff oversight, and ministry coordination. This leader will work alongside the Leadership Team and Deacon Council to guide the church toward its mission: Worship God, Equip Believers, Build Community, and Share Christ.

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, doctrinal soundness, and a heart for outreach. With a desire to reach young families and expand ministry impact, this pastor will inspire growth, mentor leaders, and model Christ-centered living in every area of church life.

Bay City, Texas, rests in the heart of the Coastal Plains region, just a short 25-minute drive from beautiful Matagorda Beach. Known for its growing economy and small-town hospitality, Bay City is surrounded by farming, ranching, and major industrial plants that sustain a thriving local economy. Founded in 1895, First Baptist Church Bay City has a long and faithful history of gospel witness and community involvement. With 405 members and an average weekly attendance of 175, the church is financially strong, debt-free, and guided by congregational governance. Ministries like D-Life Groups, Jet Set Seniors, vibrant Youth and Children’s programs, and Women’s Bible Studies reflect its intergenerational and discipleship-oriented culture.

The church operates with a clear mission, a unified staff team, and a heart to serve both its members and the broader Bay City community.
