This can feel like a crucial loss, evoking a whirlwind of emotions — disappointment, frustration, and even a sense of betrayal. However, this doesn't spell the end for your ministry. Instead, it can be seen as a juncture for growth and renewal. ## Dealing with the Departure When a valued volunteer leaves, here are some steps to navigate your way: 1. **Feel the Feels:** Allow yourself to experience your emotions — disappointment, frustration, sadness. It's part of the process. 2. **Express Gratitude:** Reach out to the volunteer to express your genuine appreciation for their service. 3. **Understand the Reasons:** Engage in a conversation with the volunteer to understand their reasons for leaving. This feedback can be invaluable for improving the volunteer program. 4. **Rally the Troops:** Remember that your ministry is not solely reliant on one person.
