Apply Now! Lead Pastor in Gig Harbor, WA

One Hope Church is looking for a Lead Pastor to guide the congregation through preaching and sacraments, while overseeing worship, outreach, and spiritual growth initiatives.

One Hope Church Gig Harbor

The Job

One Hope Church is seeking a Lead Pastor who will serve as a spiritual shepherd, biblical teacher, and relational leader for a close-knit and mission-driven congregation. This is a unique opportunity to step into a church that values authenticity, Scripture, and community, and help guide it into its next season of growth and impact.

The Lead Pastor will preach and teach God’s Word, administer the sacraments, and partner closely with a team of seven elders to provide spiritual direction and shared leadership. This role is deeply relational, with an expectation to know and connect with congregants personally while equipping them to grow in faith and live on mission. The next pastor will also help revitalize ministries, strengthen outreach efforts, and cultivate a culture where members are empowered to lead and serve.

This is not a role focused on sweeping change, but one that requires discernment, humility, and the ability to lead people forward while honoring the church’s DNA.

The Location

Gig Harbor, Washington, is a picturesque waterfront community just across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Known for its maritime charm, scenic harbor, and vibrant downtown, it offers a unique blend of natural beauty and modern convenience. Residents enjoy access to Puget Sound, nearby mountains, and outdoor recreation year-round.

With a population of approximately 12,500 and proximity to Tacoma and Seattle, Gig Harbor provides both a peaceful, small-town atmosphere and access to cultural and professional opportunities. It is a place where relationships are valued, families thrive, and ministry can take root in meaningful ways.

The Church

One Hope Church began 15 years ago out of a deep conviction to be rooted in Scripture and centered on the gospel. Today, the church gathers about 70 people weekly and is marked by a strong commitment to evangelism, missions, and discipleship. Its mission is lived out through a simple framework: Know, Grow, and Show.

The church is elder-led, collaborative in leadership, and actively engaged in both local and global outreach. From feeding the homeless in Tacoma to supporting international missions in Peru and Mongolia, One Hope Church seeks to be the hands and feet of Christ in tangible ways.

This is a church with a strong foundation and a clear opportunity to build toward the future by strengthening small groups, engaging younger generations, and equipping members for deeper involvement.

The Worship Experience

Worship at One Hope Church is relaxed, welcoming, and spiritually grounded. Services blend contemporary music with occasional traditional elements and follow a liturgical rhythm similar to a Lutheran model. Communion is celebrated weekly, and the atmosphere is intentionally laid-back, creating space for both reverence and connection.

Gatherings are unhurried and relational, designed to help people engage with God and one another in an authentic way.
