The Job
Compass Church in Columbia, Missouri, is prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor to shepherd their congregation into the next season of ministry. This role is more than teaching on Sundays; it’s about leading with vision, humility, and care. The Lead Pastor will guide the church in living out its mission to create space for people to discover Jesus and find their place in His story. Key responsibilities include Christ-centered expository preaching, equipping and developing leaders, fostering a culture of prayer, and providing pastoral care across the congregation. This leader will work alongside the elders, staff, and ministry teams to pursue gospel transformation in the church and community.

The Church
Founded in 1969, Compass Church has been a gospel-centered presence in Columbia for over 50 years. Affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), the congregation of about 100 attenders remains committed to Scripture, discipleship, missions, and authentic community. The church has weathered seasons of both growth and challenge, including recent renewal under interim leadership, and now looks ahead with hope. With a spacious 48,000 square foot facility on 17.7 acres, including a youth center, sanctuary, and recreational space, Compass is well-equipped for ministry impact. The church’s vision is simple yet powerful: to be a gospel-centered family on mission together.
The Worship Experience
