I don’t want to overstate this.
But the decisions you make about your church’s online strategy in the next 60-90 days will shape your church for the unforeseeable future.
The changes we’ve seen so far in 2020 have been seismic. The shifts we are seeing are widespread and cut to the very model of church we’ve utilized for decades.
Pandemic, technology, culture, and spiritual indifference have created the perfect storm for church leaders.
Some churches have not met in-person for nearly four months. Every church was forced to move services and spiritual interactions online, at least temporarily.
At this stage, it is likely not everyone will return to our on-site services anytime soon. Just ask any church that has already resumed in-person services.
We now need to figure out what the future looks like.
The answer is not simply hiring an online campus pastor. Churches that make rash hiring decisions during this time will soon regret not having a real online ministry plan before hiring new staff.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve walked you through the five online models/strategies you need to choose from (OldNormal, SimulService, BuildingFeeder, CampusLauncher, and DigitalDisciple). And we’ve talked about the four key roles that you need to fill to have a successful online church going forward.
Today, we’re providing an additional free resource by releasing our job description templates for each online church model/strategy and role.
These job description templates, in combination with your online strategy, will help you plan and find the people you’ll need to make this next chapter a time of fruitful ministry.

And if you’d like to grab 30-minutes to discuss your church’s online strategy, I’d love to hear what you’re thinking through and what questions you might need help with. Let’s talk.
