The Opportunity
New Life Church of Dyersburg began in January 2023 when ten individuals, after forty days of prayer and fasting, each sensed God’s unmistakable confirmation to launch a new church focused on Biblical authenticity, spiritual renewal, and genuine community. What started as a house church gathering in a basement has now become a thriving congregation meeting at the local Sportsplex, with over 350 weekly attendees, 153 salvations, 95 baptisms, and more than 500 active participants connected to the church.
New Life meets for two Sunday services at the Sportsplex, transforming the basketball courts each week to host adults, kids, and students in creative, engaging environments. As a portable church with no debt, New Life embodies adaptability, intentionality, and mission-driven focus.
With continued growth across all ministry areas, including kids, students, outreach, and worship, New Life Church is ready to welcome its next full-time leader: an Associate Pastor of Next Gen Ministries who will equip and shepherd the next generation while supporting families in their faith journey.
This pastor will lead in an environment marked by spiritual hunger, exponential growth, community impact, and an unwavering commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
The Ideal Candidate
The Associate Pastor of Next Gen Ministries will:
- Display an easy-going demeanor with a good sense of humor to navigate ministry challenges with grace and positivity.
- Exhibit loyalty and trustworthiness in building strong relationships and fostering a reliable team dynamic.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, dedication, and a passion for ministry.
- Value collaboration and teamwork, engaging effectively with staff, volunteers, and families.
- Honor others through actions and words, promoting a culture of respect and encouragement.
- Work with self-motivation and forward momentum, bringing initiative and enthusiasm to ministry.
- Lead through delegation and empowerment, equipping team members while executing tasks efficiently.
- Embrace a missional ministry approach that aligns Next Gen programming with the Sunday message or series theme.
- Be comfortable with (or willing to learn) tools like ProPresenter and Planning Center.
The right candidate will be a servant leader who loves students, kids, and their families and who thrives in a dynamic, portable environment filled with opportunities for creativity, growth, and impact. They will coach and develop volunteer teams, teach and mentor young people, and help build a vibrant young adult ministry.
This pastor will also help shape and support the church’s new faith mentoring program and serve on the Sunday teaching team several times a year.
