An Intentional Church Staff Search Launches an Exciting Future for Christian Fellowship Church

A great church staff hire starts with not only good intentions but with a great plan. This story of Christian Fellowship in Columbus, OH tells of their strategy of working with Chemistry Staffing to find their new Lead Pastor.

Early last week Christian Fellowship Church announced that Chris Richardson has formally accepted the call to serve the church as its third Lead Pastor. This is exciting news for Chris, for CFC’s congregation of 150, the Elders, and for Todd and me here at Chemistry Staffing.

CFC first approached us in September and Todd and I spent some time with CFC’s elders developing an understanding of what has been going on at the church. We learned that after over twenty years of ministry the church’s pastor had felt the Holy Spirit pressing him to move on. Working collaboratively with the church’s Elders, we developed a profile of the ideal candidate for the position and officially launched the search in October.

After weeks of marketing the position, screening resumes, and interviewing candidates, we presented CFC’s search team with four candidates in early December. In January, the search team invited Chris to visit the church as part of a candidating experience. After a successful visit, the church formally offered Chris a call to serve as its next lead pastor.

In asking the Elder’s about the search process, one shared, “...it would not have been possible to have such a great candidate in place so soon without you guys. Your responsiveness to our questions and needs could not have been better. We will definitely seek you guys out if and when we need more positions filled.”

Are you getting ready to begin the search process at your church? We’d love to come alongside your team just as we did at Christian Fellowship Church. We focus on finding a healthy, long-term fit for your church, at a price that most churches can afford. Interested in learning more?
