Apply Now! Worship/Youth Pastor in Oxnard, CA

Gold Coast Church in Oxnard, CA, is seeking a versatile Worship/Youth Pastor to oversee a dual role primarily focused on worship aspects with youth ministry.

Gold Coast Church

The Worship/Youth Pastor at Gold Coast Church leads worship ministry and oversees youth ministry, helping introduce new worship songs, expand the worship team, and build a vibrant ministry for students.

If you love leading people into worship and pouring into the next generation, this is a role you'll want to hear about. Gold Coast Church in Oxnard, CA, is looking for their next Worship/Youth Pastor, which could be a really exciting fit for the right person.

A Little About Gold Coast Church

Gold Coast Church started in 1998 when Pastor Scott and his wife, Sharon, felt called to plant a new church in western Ventura County. What began as a small group gathering in homes for fellowship and Bible study grew into weekly worship services by 1999, and in 2005 the church moved into its current home at 3500 Camino Avenue in Oxnard. In 2019, Pastor Louis joined the church along with a team from a church he had planted in Oxnard in 2006, bringing fresh energy and a vision to help chart the next 20 years of ministry.

Today, Gold Coast runs two weekend services out of a well-maintained, 10,000-square-foot facility that seats 230 in the worship center, with youth and children's spaces, offices, and a kitchen. Weekend attendance runs 150-200, the church carries zero debt, and they operate on a $650,000 budget. Their governance is collaborative; the pastoral team sets vision and direction while seeking input and consent from the elders.

Their worship style is contemporary and high-energy, with a full band (keyboards, drums, acoustic and electric guitars, bass) leading a 75-minute service built around a three-song opening set, announcements, a 35-40 minute message, communion, a closing two-song set, and an offering.

Gold Coast holds to values of Truth, Family, Beauty, and Risk (meaning, they aren’t afraid to take risks), and describes itself theologically as Evangelical-Conservative, with roots in the Restoration Movement tradition. They're big on the authority of Scripture and the centrality of Christ, and they hold their doctrinal convictions with both biblical conviction and Christlike compassion.

Ministry-wise, they've got a full lineup: Children's Ministry, Life Groups, a Care Ministry that looks after the sick and shut-in, a Men's Ministry, and a Women's Ministry called "reach." They also partner in a disciple-making training program called "Imprinting the Gospel," serve a local rescue mission, and support regional Christian camps. Over the last 18 months, their children's ministry has grown significantly and about a dozen people have been baptized. Now their biggest opportunity (and challenge) is finding the right Worship/Youth Pastor to help carry that momentum forward.

 Life in Oxnard, CA

Gold Coast sits in the Oxnard/Camarillo area, where there's a little something for everyone. Camarillo brings a safe, family-friendly, small-town feel with a sunny microclimate, Old Town eateries, great outlet shopping, and CSU Channel Islands nearby. Oxnard itself is a vibrant coastal city with uncrowded beaches, the Channel Islands Harbor, and legendary Mexican food, plus easy access to spots like The Collection at RiverPark and Channel Islands National Park. Oxnard's population sits around 225,000, with about 850,000 in the surrounding county, so residents get that coastal, small-community feel without being far from more.

 About the Role

This is a dual-role position: 70% worship, 30% youth ministry. On the worship side, the goals are to introduce new worship songs, expand the worship team, and enhance the overall worship ministry. On the youth side, the church is looking to establish regular youth meetings and recruit both participants and leaders to build a vibrant youth ministry.

Day to day, you'll be selecting songs, coordinating volunteers, leading worship, organizing youth meetings, and growing the youth ministry for spiritual growth and community impact. The church has noted that experience with Propresenter, Planning Center, Subsplash, or general audiovisual skills would be a plus, though the only formal degree requirement listed is a high school diploma.

If this sounds like the kind of role and community you could see yourself in, we'd love to talk. Please note that Gold Coast Church has asked that all interested candidates work directly with Chemistry Staffing at this time rather than contacting the church directly.
