Do you like to lead worship and think Virginia is a fantastic place to live?

Bonsack Baptist Church in Roanoke is in search of a Community Life Center (CLC) Worship & Media Minister. This position will not only lead worship but help establish a more theological vision of worship and be a pastoral presence. Bonsack Baptist holds 2 contemporary Sunday worship services in the CLC, which happen simultaneously with two traditional services. They are looking for someone to create a sense of team among the worship and media ministries.

The Worship & Media Minister will lead all aspects of weekly contemporary worship in the Community Life Center as well as oversee multimedia needs. This person will serve as primary host pastor and create vision for CLC services while coordinating with the Minister of Music on timing of services. S/he will manage media volunteers, maintain the multimedia equipment of the church, and function as a member of the ministry staff.

The right candidate will possess spiritual maturity and a giftedness necessary to lead in worship. S/he will communicate individually and in front of the congregation with effectiveness, sincerity, and passion. The next Worship & Media Minister will need to be a skilled vocalist and/or instrumentalist who has the working knowledge of multimedia technology. The position requires a bachelor’s degree but seminary training is preferred.

Bonsack Baptist is located in the northeast sector of the Roanoke Valley. This once-rural area has grown in the last decades to become a suburban outpost. Though only six miles from downtown Roanoke, this area has a life of its own. People who move here have a tendency to stay and the community benefits from two very good school systems. The Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail both pass within less than 6 miles from the church, and Smith Mountain Lake is less than 30 minutes to the south. It is truly a beautiful place to live!
