Located in the quiet town of Rising Sun, Maryland, Grace Bible Chapel is in search of their next Senior Pastor.  The right person will be a shepherd who is responsible for preaching every Sunday morning, leading staff, working together with the elder team to shepherd the congregation, for setting and promoting the vision of the church, and has a passion for strengthening families.

Grace Bible Chapel (GBC) is in Cecil County, the most northeast corner of the state, bordering Delaware and Pennsylvania.  GBC is in a rural area and is a great place to raise a family and put down roots.  Cecil County is unique in that it is located in the Upper Chesapeake Bay area, approximately 10 minutes from the mouth of the top of the North East River which provides ample recreational opportunities. You will find delightful shops and some excellent restaurants along the North East River. Boating is a favorite pastime for many in this area; and for outdoor enthusiasts, there are many locations where you can enjoy fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and hiking. If you enjoy the beach, Rising Sun, MD, is approximately two hours from the beaches in Delaware and New Jersey.  If you’d prefer to see a professional game, or visit a museum, Baltimore, MD and Philadelphia, PA are approximately an hour away. And, if you wish to visit our nation’s capital, GBC is just 2 hours from Washington, D.C. GBC’s location offers the best of both worlds: rural living, yet close enough to visit the city if you’d like.  

Grace Bible Chapel is a non-denominational, evangelical church, with a strong emphasis on biblical teaching.  Strong teaching, combined with an elder-led structure, has positioned GBC to have an effective growing ministry.  GBC was located in Zion, MD from 1947 to 2010.  In 2010, they moved to the current location to better accommodate their growth in size and to focus on ministering to families. In their long history, GBC has been blessed with a strong volunteer base. From within that volunteer base, many of the current and past staff members have been hired. 

GBC’s mission is to expand God’s kingdom by making and growing disciples. They desire to help people come to know God and to grow in their relationship with Him.  Their vision is to build strong families as they make and grow disciples.  The right person will:
•    Regularly exhort the church to trust Christ in all aspects of their lives through transformational, not just informational, preaching. 
•    Identify, develop, teach, and equip Christ-like leaders.
•    Lead all public worship services.
•    Oversee administration and church staff. 
•    Biblically shepherd believers through the challenges to the faith so that they are strengthened and equipped to boldly share the Gospel.
