Eternal Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is prayerfully seeking its next Lead Teaching Pastor: a seasoned, gospel-centered teacher and shepherd who senses a call to lead a congregation that has walked through both growth and grief, and is now poised for renewal, healing, and future fruitfulness.

Founded in 2003, Eternal Church has a rich history marked by vibrant worship, expository preaching, community engagement, and a deep commitment to the gospel. Like many churches, Eternal has navigated seasons of change, including a significant pastoral transition in 2024. Through it all, the congregation has remained faithful, honest, and hopeful, leaning into God’s grace while courageously preparing for what comes next.

Today, Eternal Church averages around 530 in weekly attendance (plus online participation) and gathers in a modern, thoughtfully designed facility that opened in October 2023. With one Sunday service and a strong midweek discipleship culture, Eternal offers both intimacy and capacity for growth.

Eternal Church is anchored by a simple yet robust vision: “To see every man, woman, and child living lives of witness at home, at work, and at play.” This vision is pursued through four guiding coordinates: Truth. Worship. Community. Witness.

Theologically, Eternal Church is Evangelical and Conservative, holding firmly to the authority of Scripture, salvation by grace through faith, the Triune God, and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Worship is modern yet theologically rich, thoughtfully integrated with weekly teaching, and led by a skilled, volunteer-driven music ministry.

The Lead Teaching Pastor serves as the primary Bible teacher and a co-lead pastor alongside the Executive Pastor. This role is centered on faithful expository preaching, pastoral presence, and spiritual leadership, forming a congregation that is grounded in truth, responsive in worship, connected in community, and sent in witness.

Key aspects of the role include:
● Preaching and teaching the whole counsel of Scripture with clarity and grace
● Shepherding the congregation with wisdom, humility, and care
● Mentoring and developing the pastoral team
● Partnering collaboratively with elders, staff, and volunteers
● Helping lead Eternal through its next season of healing, stability, and renewed mission

The position reports to the Session (Elder Team) and oversees ministry within a church operating on a $1.4M annual budget, with the Lead Teaching Pastor and the Executive Pastor co-leading the church's overall vision and direction.

Eternal Church is seeking a pastor who is:
● A gifted expository teacher with a deep love for Scripture
● Emotionally and relationally healthy
● Humble, trustworthy, and collaborative
● Comfortable leading a church through restoration and forward momentum
● Passionate about discipleship, pastoral care, and gospel witness

A bachelor’s degree is required (seminary or equivalent theological training strongly preferred), along with significant teaching and ministry experience.

Located just south of Charlotte, Fort Mill offers the best of both worlds: family-friendly neighborhoods, excellent schools, outdoor recreation, and access to both city life and natural beauty. From Lake Wylie and the Anne Springs Close Greenway to nearby mountains and beaches, it’s a place where ministry and family life can flourish together.

This is not a role for someone seeking a blank slate or a quick fix. It is a calling for a pastor who believes that God does some of His deepest work in honest soil, through steady presence, faithful  teaching, and patient love.

If you sense that God may be inviting you into a redemptive, meaningful chapter of ministry, one shaped by truth, worship, community, and witness, we invite you to explore this opportunity further.
