The Great Commission laid out by Jesus has always been a guiding force for Christian leaders around the world. The vision of taking the Gospel to every tribe, language, and nation, could be realized in our lifetime, according to some of the top global Christian leaders. This audacious statement means we could see every person in the world have access to the Gospel—a daunting yet motivating mission.

So, how close are we? Here are three key factors that could pave the way.

1. Synergize: Uniting the Church Like Never Before

The church is beginning to work together in unprecedented ways. Gone are the days of individual churches or denominations operating in silos. A growing trend of collaboration sees organizations and local churches working in harmony. The Global Church Network, for instance, is facilitating powerful collaborations between local churches and international organizations.

These alliances are made possible by the internet and social media, which have significantly eased the means to share the Gospel worldwide. The greater the unity among us, the faster the mission makes headway.

2. Mobilize: More Workers, More Bibles, More Impact

Despite having more people coming to Christ today than ever before, the need for new pastors, church planters, and evangelists persists. The urgency described in Luke 10:2 remains: "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few." The goal is to equip approximately a million new ministers and missionaries by 2030.

Additionally, Bible translation is also accelerating. We could soon see scripture available in every language, ensuring access to God’s Word for everyone around the globe.

3. Finalize: The Urgency of the Moment

Christian leaders emphasize the urgency of finalizing the global harvest, cautioning us not to wait and miss the moment. Notably, former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stresses that faith must remain our first priority to accomplish this mission.

We are on the brink of a massive global harvest, but we must be ready. The time to act is now.

Our individual participation is crucial. We can pray for the nations, get involved in missions or support church planters, learn about Bible translation, and share the message around us. Let's engage in missions, and fulfill the Great Commission together.
