The Job
The Cornerstone Church in Clyde, Michigan, is prayerfully seeking an Executive Director of Ministries: a gifted, strategic leader who loves helping people and ministries flourish. This role is central to the church’s mission of helping people find and follow Jesus. Reporting directly to the Lead Pastor, the Executive Director will oversee ministry operations, staff, and volunteers to ensure that all ministries, from children to missions, function with excellence and unity.
The right candidate will bring strong organizational leadership, relational wisdom, and a collaborative spirit. Responsibilities include coordinating ministry teams, managing special projects, implementing financial plans, and helping translate the church’s vision into actionable strategies. This is a role for someone who can lead with both heart and structure, bringing people together to serve the church and its surrounding community effectively.
The Location
Clyde sits just outside Port Huron and Fort Gratiot, along the shores of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River. It’s a peaceful, family-oriented community that blends small-town life with easy access to big-city opportunities. Residents enjoy excellent schools, local shops, and a strong sense of community pride, all within an hour’s drive of downtown Detroit. With beaches, forests, and trails nearby, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy fishing, hunting, and hiking year-round. The Church
Founded in 1997, The Cornerstone Church is an Evangelical Free Church with around 200 weekly attenders and a $400,000 annual budget. Over the past several years, the church has experienced renewal and growth, revitalizing its children’s education, youth, and small group ministries. The church’s vision is clear and inspiring: to help people find and follow Jesus, building a community where worshippers around God’s throne reflect lives changed through Christ.
The Cornerstone Church is known for its warmth, community focus, and faithfulness to Scripture. The Elder Team provides spiritual oversight and vision while staff and lay leaders work together to bring that vision to life.
The Worship Experience
Worship at Cornerstone is vibrant and heartfelt. Services are contemporary but incorporate traditional hymns that honor the church’s heritage. Each 75-minute gathering weaves together music, prayer, Scripture, expository preaching, and communion twice each month.
