The Associate Pastor position at Turning Point Church in Bonita Springs, Florida offers an exciting and strategic opportunity for a dedicated ministry leader to serve alongside the Lead Pastor and elder team in shaping the spiritual, organizational, and missional life of the church. In this role, the Associate Pastor will provide day-to-day leadership and hands-on mentoring for staff and key volunteers, helping to cultivate a healthy, collaborative team culture marked by spiritual maturity, clear communication, and shared vision.

This position will actively collaborate on growth strategies for the church, including evaluating current ministries, identifying new opportunities, and developing practical plans that align with Turning Point’s mission and values. The Associate Pastor will oversee outreach and missions efforts—both local and global—by championing a missional mindset, building strategic partnerships, equipping the congregation to serve, and ensuring that outreach initiatives are effectively resourced, organized, and followed up with intentional discipleship.

A central focus of this role is to guide and strengthen discipleship initiatives across the church. This includes helping to design and support pathways for spiritual formation, such as groups, classes, mentoring environments, and next-step processes that move people from first-time guests to fully engaged, multiplying disciples. The Associate Pastor will work closely with other leaders to ensure that discipleship is integrated into every ministry area and that leaders are equipped to shepherd those in their care.

In addition, the Associate Pastor will collaborate in the management of church operations and finances, contributing to wise stewardship, clear processes, and healthy systems that support sustainable ministry. This may involve participating in budgeting conversations, staffing and resource planning, policy development, and evaluation of ministry effectiveness. While not a primarily administrative role, the Associate Pastor will bring a thoughtful, organized approach that helps the church operate with clarity and integrity.

The role also includes periodic preaching and teaching responsibilities, offering the Associate Pastor regular opportunities to communicate God’s Word in worship services and other settings in a way that is biblically grounded, pastorally sensitive, and practically applicable. As a member of the elder team, the Associate Pastor will share in the spiritual oversight of the congregation, participating in prayer, discernment, pastoral care, and high-level decision-making that shapes the church’s direction.

Overall, this role plays a vital part in enhancing Turning Point Church’s impact not only in Bonita Springs and the broader Southwest Florida region, but also beyond, through missions and partnerships. By fostering spiritual growth, encouraging impactful service, and strengthening community engagement, the Associate Pastor will help shape an environment where people encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, discover their God-given purpose, and are sent out to make a meaningful difference in their neighborhoods, workplaces, and the world.

The ideal candidate for the Associate Pastor role will be a spiritually mature, biblically grounded leader with demonstrated proficiency in staff leadership, coaching, and development. This includes the ability to invest intentionally in staff and key volunteers, provide clear direction and feedback, foster a culture of accountability and grace, and help individuals grow in both character and competency. The candidate should be skilled at building healthy teams, navigating change, and cultivating unity around a shared vision and mission.
