This position will collaborate with denominational leaders, local pastors, lay leaders, and community stakeholders to discern opportunities for new church plants, assess community needs, and develop contextually appropriate ministry strategies.

By engaging in church planting training, ongoing coaching, and team development, this role will contribute to shaping the culture, identity, and long-term health of new congregations. The Church Planter will help define core values, align ministries with the overall mission, and guide the implementation of a clear vision that fosters discipleship, evangelism, and community engagement. This work includes leading launch teams, developing worship and discipleship rhythms, and establishing pathways for new believers to grow and serve.

Throughout this journey, the Church Planter will receive dedicated support, coaching, and resources from the Church Planting and Renewal ministry, including access to training cohorts, mentoring relationships, and practical tools for church development. This collaborative support network is designed to help the Church Planter navigate challenges, celebrate wins, and remain encouraged and equipped as they help plant, establish, and strengthen new churches that reflect the mission and values of the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists.

Situated in the welcoming region of Eastern North Carolina, recognized for its strong sense of community, affordable cost of living, and deep-rooted family ties, the Church Planter will serve in a key leadership role, cultivating faith communities that encourage spiritual growth, meaningful community involvement, and the enduring values of Church Planting and Renewal. The culture of Eastern North Carolina, valuing tradition, mutual support, and shared growth, provides a strong foundation for ministry that honors the past while looking faithfully toward the future.

Church Planting and Renewal, under the guidance of the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists, is deeply committed to starting and revitalizing healthy congregations that reflect the Kingdom purposes and core principles of the Christian faith. As part of this ministry, the Church Planter will join a broader movement focused on equipping churches, extending outreach into the community, and encouraging steady congregational growth. Together, they will work to advance the mission and vision of the Original Free Will Baptist movement, seeking to see churches flourish, disciples mature, and communities impacted for Christ.
